Coupons, promos, sales, discounts they all pretty much mean the same thing- saving money on what we want to buy. Do we not all love these? Many of us use them regularly when shopping for food. Many of us take the time to cut out the paper coupons for our local stores. Adds on T.V. and radio and billboards, etc...all have the same end-goal in mind and that is to get us to purchase whatever items they have for sale. We all love to shop around for sales on larger ticket items like big screen T.V.s or cars as well. However, how many of us use them for other items like entertainment? Do we expect to see coupons for basketballs or gold clubs? Do we cut out coupons for scuba gear or parachutes? Not too often, no. We look for sales for those types of items more often than not. But what about games we play using consoles? Do we cut out coupons for those? Or look for sales on those? Not in my experience we don't. And why don't we? Pretty much no matter what we buy can be found on sale or purchased with a promo code or a coupon code at some point or another throughout the year so why aren't we using them more? Places like newegg and tigerdirect almost always have sales on computer hardware yet most of us simply go to the nearest store to upgrade our memory or get the newest and greatest video card. Maybe we should use these online stores more often, that is if they save us money. If we take the time to shop around we can usually save money on just about anything. We can also do this with electronic games if we are willing to wait for the shipping. More and more of us are purchasing over the internet and downloading our games directly and are willing to pay a little extra when needed to have a dvd shipped to our homes. The wait and extra money to ship a dvd are not too high a price to pay for our entertainment but we do have a tendancy to want it NOW and not wait. Am I willling to wait? Sometimes I am. Sometimes I am not. It depends largely on the game and how much time I can dedicate to a new game at that point in my life. One thing I can say is I am always, always on the lookout for cheaper prices- for deals. There are plenty of online stores out there that offer good deals on games. You can find 2 for 1 deals, free shipping, $$ off when you buy X amount of dollars worth of items, etc...If we take the time to search it out saving money on console games and pc games is very doable. If anyone is interested my site has links to ongoing and every-changing electronic game sales. Whether you choose to shop via my site or find another one shouldn't we all use coupons, promos, and various other discount types more often since most of us who play spend a lot money to do so?
